Class Description

This 1 day (4 hour) program provides law abiding citizens with the UPDATED (09/15/2023) requirements set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:54-2.4(B) to APPLY for a New Jersey Permit to Carry.

Since the Bruen decision issued by the Supreme Court of The United States, RAB Firearms Training and Consulting has provided PROPER training to every single customer who attended our New Jersey Permit to Carry class. While many people have received their permit to carry training from other instructors, many of them were required to requalify because the training provided to them was insufficient according to the State of New Jersey. At RAB Firearms Training and Consulting, we pride ourselves in putting out the best service possible for our customers. We have successfully helped over 200 people obtain and retain their New Jersey permit to carry.

Topics Covered:

The course consists of the following training requirements:

1. NJ Use of Force training for Private Citizens Concealed Carry prepared by the New Jersey State Police and the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:3-1,etseq.
2. Obtain an 80% (40/50) or greater on the 50 Round course of fire (10 rounds from 15 yards, 10 rounds from 10 yards, 10 rounds from 7 yards, 10 rounds from 5 yards, and 10 rounds from 3 yards.) YOU MUST SHOOT FROM A HOLSTER FOR THIS COURSE.

This program is not intended for people with little to no experience with firearms. This is not a shooting fundamentals or skill building class. This program will provide you with the training requirements for your New Jersey Permit to Carry application. Before enrolling in this program, you should be proficient with fundamentals of firearms safety, safe firearms handling, and shooting. Instructors and or range safety officers reserve the right to dismiss a person from the program if they feel the person is unsafe or doesn't have the skills to pass the live fire qualification course without a refund.

Applicants should seek firearms training from a REPUTABLE firearms instructor prior to attending this course. *PRIVATE TRAINING AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST*

Required For Class:

• 1 handgun that is LEGALLY owned by the applicant
• 150 rounds of ammunition
• Appropriate clothing for the weather forecast
• At least 2 handgun magazines or speed loaders for revolvers
• Conceal carry holster (SERPA holsters will not be approved for use in this class. Holster should be made of kydex or similar material.)
• Ear protection
• Eye protection
• Government issued photo identification
• NJ Firearms ID CARD (if applicable)
• Out-of-State residents may attend the course
